Dear Classmates:
Thanks to those of you who joined us for our virtual Zoom social gathering today. It was great to see everyone and the technology worked well for us! It's easier now to imagine more virtual gatherings especially for those of you unable to travel long distances back to Madison.
At our gathering we shared how planning for our 40th high school reunion has been quite the challenge. This is our first reunion in 35 years without Gretchen Freymiller Tompson leading the planning; we lost her to cancer in November 2019. The COVID-19 pandemic is also presenting challenges. Given the uncertainty of the pandemic situation, everyone understood that we needed postpone our in person 40th reunion celebration to September 18, 2021.
More details to be shared with you via this website, our Facebook page and emails. Stay in touch and Save this Date!
Until then, we need your help with those listed on our Missing Classmates tab. We also want to ensure all classmates who have passed are accounted for. Go to the In Memoriam page and make sure your friends are noted. Send us your updates on our Contact Us tab.
In 2010, Gretchen and I had a vision to start a scholarship at LaFollette in honor of our class. At the 30th reunion, we raised $2,000 for scholarships. In the last 10 years, our class generously funded from reunion silent auctions, golf outings, and other fundraisers more than $15,000 for graduating LaFollette seniors.
The future of the scholarship fund was so important to Gretchen that she left $2,500 from her estate to the fund. In honor of Gretchen and all of our classmates who have passed on, the Reunion Committee has challenged that we meet or beat Gretchen's donation this year.
How can you do this? Go to: Fmps.org/donate/give to a fund/LaFollette High Class of 1980 Scholarship Fund or send a check written to: FMPS LaFollette Class of 1980 Scholarship and send to:

I am so proud to be a member of this class! Our legacy continues to live on. I love our reunions and look forward to "seeing" you virtually at another gathering and again on 9/18/2021 when we celebrate in person.
Be safe and healthy!
